eastkentchess.org.uk - The Home of Chess in Thanet and East Kent
The new-look Thanet & East Kent Chess League website aims to provide a “one-stop shop” for chess players of all ages in Thanet & East Kent who want to follow their local chess scene.
The website remains the home of the Thanet Chess Congress (incorporating the Kent Individual Championships), at eastkentchess.org.uk/congress, which will return in August 2023 as part of the Chessable ECF Grand Prix.
Plus the new-look website also now provides a home for the East Kent Megafinal, part of the Delancey UK Schools' Chess Challenge, at eastkentchess.org.uk/megafinal. Look out for other local tournaments and training sessions here as well - coming soon!
The site now provides a Noticeboard (also the Home page) for League news, announcements, events, and even annotated games, a Calendar of upcoming chess events - for both adults and juniors - in Thanet & East Kent and neighbouring regions (i.e. Kent, Sussex & South London), and a new easy-to-view Results service.
A section of the website is also devoted to Clubs affiliated to the League. Each club has an up-to-date information page as well as an optional club noticeboard. Both League and Club pages link to pages on the ECF League Management System, where most of the competitions are run and you can see the latest standings.
This site is a work in progress, and we welcome suggestions on how to improve the service it provides to local chess players. To make a suggestion, or to see your chess news / announcement / event / game displayed here on the Thanet & East Kent Chess website, please email us at info@eastkentchess.org.uk.
